About Us.
Gilman Volunteer Fire Fighter's Association was formed in 2001 to assist Gilman Fire and Rescue with fundraising support, guidance, and situational oversight. The association is comprised of members of the fire department that support the mission of both the fire department and firefighter's association. All members are volunteers who serve our community with compassion, honor, and integrity.

Our training programs equip firefighters with the skills needed to respond effectively to emergencies and keep our community safe. We focus on continuous improvement and staying at the forefront of modern firefighting techniques.

Through prevention initiatives, we educate the community on fire safety, prevention methods, and how to handle emergencies. Our goal is to reduce the risk of fires and promote a safer environment for everyone.

Engaging with the community is vital to our mission. We organize events, workshops, and activities to build strong relationships and enhance fire safety awareness among all age groups.

More About Gilman Fire and Rescue
Gilman Fire and Rescue is a group of 17 dedicated volunteers that provide fire protection, EMS, and other emergency response to a 100 square mile area of central Iowa. We average around 150 total calls for service per year that range from structure, wildland, and vehicle fires, to auto accidents, storm spotting, grain bin rescue, high angle rescue, and medical. Our EMS service is 1 of 2 volunteer departments in Marshall County that are certified to transport patients at a BLS level. Our Volunteers hold certifications of Firefighter 1 and 2, Haz-Mat Ops and Awareness, Pumper Driver/Operator, and Instructor; as well as EMR, EMT, AEMT, and RN.
